South Australian company PRP Manufacturing has been selected by BAE Systems Australia Maritime to supply gaskets for prototyping blocks as part of the Hunter class frigate program.
PRP Manufacturing Chief Operating Officer Luke Sernecki said that the contract will lead to more jobs for PRP in South Australia, along with an investment in capital infrastructure.
“We hope this contract will hold us in good stead for further work with BAE, and also support our endeavours to tender for large contracts for future work,” Mr Sernecki said.
The company was one of three recently selected to undertake work on the prototyping phase with NSW company Defence Seals & Spares to supply manhole and access panel gaskets and Victoria’s ABECK Group to manufacture/supply flowforge gratings.
